I really want some. And some Kung fu shoes…
What are you missing from the old days?!
I had to google Kung Fu shoes. They are not on my favourite list but loved the bubble gum jeans, almost like wearing tracky dacks.
Pleated waist jeans were good for those of us with child-bearing hips and tiny waists.
I want low rise jeans back. Some.of us may have got our navels pierced… and even though the piercing is long gone… the area still gets sore if I have a waist band sitting on it all day. This high waisted trend is not for me…
Heyho2 me too. Not the super low ones but the mid low really suited me. High waisted jeans just emphasise my hips which are out of proportion to the rest of mr
Heyho2 I am the opposite! I didn’t wear jeans back when the pube-grazing style was in fashion - thanks Britney Spears!! I am very long-waisted, half my arse would show in those Sass n Bide jeans that were so trendy in the early ’00s 😅
I’ve seen pleated jeans recently. My no waist wouldn’t cope with them!
Another thing that was big was army jackets and Fairydown jackets. We were too povo to have those back then.
I had a lot of Laura Ashley skirts.Tiny waists and full skirts.
Country Road was different as well. Prints and pleats.
I also no longer have much of a waist. What the hell happened?
Must have gone to where mine went?
I loved my bubblegum jeans.
God I would look like an overstuffed sausage in those jeans.
I had stirrup jeans as well. I’d forgotten that. I was queen of the 80s jeans.
I had stirrup pants. SO unflattering on big legs.
Remember body suits with the clippy crotches - I used to be able to wear them with just a long elastic waisted skirt over the top. Flat stomach days. Sigh.
CassandraNORI Go wander into Kmart in the older girls section. So many bodysuits that I thought I was in the baby section. I mean, look at this: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/short-sleeve-bodysuit/3222332
I skipped the 1980s fashions. I was in hand me downs from various relatives and didn’t give two hoots about what I wore. I did have knickers with Barbie pictures on the front. Does that count as 1980s?
I forgot about stirrup pants! They tried to make a comeback, I saw some recently.
I had so many bodysuits.
I loved a leg warmer back in the day, too.
God these were all such great clothes when young. I’m trying to picture myself stuffed into a body suit with bubblegum jeans, legwarmers, kung fu shoes and shoulder pads. Sad image.
Dolly magazine in the 80s was amazing.
Not 80s but in the height of the 91210 days my crew and I were pretty happy with the singlet strap dress over the white T-shirt look; topped off with Docs. I can’t imagine what I’d look like if I tried that now, it’s pretty terrifying to imagine!
Sabrina that’s in fashion again - little t-shirts under dresses and lace-up combat boots.
I like that 80s fashion wasn’t always body conscious (some of it was). I feel like there was more leeway for girls to express themselves through fashion without being sexual. These are from Dolly mag in 1986. I remember lots of girls dressing like this.
What about beads? I found this beauty today.
