Maybe the tide is starting to turn. It feels like a big deal after years of seeing women who expressed exactly this view being thrown out of the British labour party, fired from their jobs, physically attacked, socially isolated and abused online. I mean, the reason this forum exists is because a group of us were told we were bigots, akin to 1950s racists, for saying the above. I hope this is the beginning of some sensible discussions where women can argue for same sex spaces without being abused.

Longdarkteatime I honestly think it’s because light is being shed on this a little more in the mainstream and some people are starting to realise that the concerns women have been raising are actually legitimate concerns not borne of transphobia but fears for children’s mental and physical health, and the safety and right to single sex spaces for women. And I mean the situation with Laurel Hubbard speaks for itself. As well as the latest court cases with Maya Forseter and Keira Bell.

I feel like it’s awareness. There were people jumping on a woke bandwagon previously but once you start examining it you start to notice that the emperor has no clothes and then you can’t unsee it.

How anyone could know about this and support it I don’t know - but this is Canada - let’s hope the debate can truly be opened up and not shut down with cries of transphobe so that vulnerable women no longer need to be put in danger -
