I have had 3 stubborn thick hairs growing the last 5 years. I had a white one that grew on my check, a couple of centimeters in front of my earlobe - it was such a weird hair, and similar to the end of a feather - it had layers and was hollow inside. I found the name of it a few years ago, but forgot what it is called. I plucked it about 10 times and it hasn’t returned in 2 years. (I kind of miss it!)
I was getting a thick white one and a thick black one on my chin. Now the black one only comes back - as soon as I can feel it, I try to get it out with tweezers, but it’s not long enough. I try every day for a week, whilst watching tv at night , to get it. I eventually pull it out, then I immediately miss it. It comes back a month later, and the cycle repeats itself.
I should stop feeling my chin for it. I felt it again this morning.
Oh, and a few years ago I discovered a very long white hair near the top of my nose, but off to the side. It came back a few times, and hasn’t returned.
I remember being a little bit shocked at seeing about 10 long white ones on my mum’s face when she was in the nursing home. She must have been plucking them all those years, and wasn’t able to in her last 12 months. Of course at the time I didn’t tell her she had them, she was struggling with life as it was.
I sometimes look at DH’s face and ask him how can he live with so many prickles on his face. One little prickly hair is enough to drive me crazy.
