I have never made curried sausages, but doesn’t the curry make them quite flavourful? I don’t think leaving out the stock would matter.
Well it’s too late - I’ve made a terrible job of it with water and some chilli and extra salt. I also added bbq sauce. There. I said it. I’ve made the devils food with bbq sauce as stock. Also my DD9 for whom this catastrophe has been concocted wants it with rice AND mashed potatoes. I think maccas would probably have been a better option.
Have you got keens curry powder? Just add more of that in 😁
Heyho2 Have you got keens curry powder? Just add more of that in 😁
I’m pretty sure that is the authentic recipe for curried sausages and mash.
Actually my saving grace could be the curry powder v good one from an Indian grocer.
Even better if it’s a tin that’s been in the pantry for quite some time….

It doesn’t have an expiry does it?
You can pass it down from generation to generation.
Stay away @Marmalade and @AprilEthereal !
I don’t know why this thread is making me laugh so hard.
Does it feature kitty? If kitty it may get a half pass
My dp has a stupid thing about expiry dates and threw my last tin out, just because it expired in the 90’s sometime 🙄. It had some smell left!
stock cube? but water would do i reckon. i’m happy to crank open my CWA cookbook for you..those gals would have a million way to curry a sausage - there’s bound to be one recipe sans stock
Last year I used up the last of a container of saffron I bought at the Daimaru closing down sale. Daimaru closed in 1998….
I remember Daimaru!
seriously that keens curry powder would be an infinity expiry date.- i reckon theres some of that stuff still buried from WW1 and it would still pack a punch. just sift out the weevils
when I said I have no stock I meant no stock cubes 👀.
i bet the CWA cookbook curried saus involves rosella fruit chutney.
oh sorry! i thought you meant you normally had a twelve hour master stock on the stove…as you were!
yeh fruit chutney for sure. and i suspect the humble sultana would even make an appearance …
Make a gravy from the pan juices, add Keens.
