Just wanted peoples opinion as DH and I are in disagreement. We have just bought a cheapy rental property. It’s in great nick mostly, except for needing a paint except for the pantry shelves ( they are 100 years old and look it. ). I want to just cover them in a nice looking contact, . DH wants to sand them back to the original wood and paint or stain them. This will take ages! Would it bother you if you were to rent a place if the pantry shelves had contact on them instead of paint?
Marmalade I think contact would not last well and be tricky to do, very fiddly. It also reminds me of the Kmart Facebook page where they contact everything 😬 let hubby paint it if he’s happy too 😃
Depends on how much rent I was paying and the condition of the rest of the place… probably good to do contact so they dont have to worry as much about damage?
Contacting can end up costing a bit, and can be tricky with air pockets. I am halfway through using Bunnings vinyl wrap on some portable shelves and I stuffed up the edging.
Do the shelves come out easily?
Chookas haha I used to be in that group.. people covered their fridges and washing machines with marble contact 😬
ALittleBitter Such a terrible look.
Hmm. I thought they might be ok as they will be clean and fresh. I haven’t heard of that vinyl wrap OnFire so I might check that out. DH will do a great job, but it will takes ages - he’s a perfectionist - and we are losing money every week it’s off the market. The rent is pretty set due to being a regional area , so won’t change the rent.
