But it doesn’t make any difference how long the quarantine is if you can get infected while in quarantine. Wasn’t this guy infected WHILE in quarantine? He showed negative before leaving and positive after? It wouldn’t matter how long the quarantine was if you catch it in there near the end.
It’s not his fault he got it, no, but honestly, I would not be going to big, crowded places other than the airport if I’d just got out of quarantine. It’s not a fault thing, it’s just a common sense thing. Last time I travelled, I made sure I had a few days at home on the other end, just in case, and I never even had to go near quarantine. If I’d been in quarantine, I’d have got my groceries delivered and stayed at home for another week, just in case.
The guy who travelled to Melbourne too. He was probably going home, which is fair and reasonable, but now that’s 257 people they’re trying to track down and anyone in the airport at the time his plane landed. We all know it could be another lockdown, just like that, if we are unlucky. I hope they’re still making everyone on flights wear masks.
