We have a miele heat pump dryer. We bought bottom of the range, but I somehow got upgraded. The one we got has an ironing function. Best thing ever! I rarely iron, but it is fab for school and work shirts. It takes about an hour and a half to dry, but it is gentle on clothes. Does not blast them with really hot air or shrink anything.
Agree with the poster above that heat pump dryers are worth it if you use them regularly, but not if it is just once or twice a week. I have a kid with a dust mite allergy and was finding clothes horses inside were just putting moisture back in the air, the clothes stunk and it was good breeding ground for dust mites. I love how it drys clothes so much I use it in summer now. Given I have solar, I don’t even feel guilty about it lol!
